Pam Reed
Pam was first introduced to fine handwork and sewing at a young age while living in Germany in the 1950s. Both my mother and grandmother gave me the talents of dressmaking and the love of anything created by needle and thread that has been carried down in my family for generations. My great grandmother made dresses for the wealthy and my grandmother worked in the garment factory of NYC in the 1920s.
The desire to create with my hands remained with me as an adult, first, working with 2 of my friends doing slipcovers, pillows and drapes for a well-known company. Jump forward to the 80s as the owner of a needlework and frame shop for 20 years. My husband and I branched into the wholesale manufacturing of wood products in 1995, and I launched Mimi’s sewing room specializing in smalls and the invention of prefinished no sew Tuckaway pillows was developed along with other no sew items for easy finishing.
