A basket weaver! I have been a Nantucket Basket weaver for 15 years and teacher of the art of weaving lightship Nantucket baskets for the past 6 years. My first love being embroidery, most of what I create has a use in embroidery. Patterns can be woven into the baskets similar to embroidery once you learn the basic idea of the weaving of any type. My newest works of weaving art include working on a style basket that incorporates Tenerife, Hardanger, and Battenberg lace stitches called a Mattapoisett Purse.
