Join mother/daughter team, Pam Reed and Tammy Finn of Olde Colonial Designs. In this class Pam and Tammy will guide you through the framing of needle art. Learn how to measure and order your own frames correctly, what you will need for equipment to complete the job, or maybe just to have the appreciation for proper framing. This is a hands-on class that will cover more than basic framing. Notebook pages will be provided for a future reference guide. Join us in learning and building your reference binder and photo album about:
- Preparing needlework for framing
- Knowing what to look for in used frames (beware of flea market frames)
- Lacing of your needlework
- Knowing how to read a ruler
- Measuring out your needlework
- Proper framing techniques
- Ovals and rounds
- Dealing with a linen piece that is smaller than the frame
Kit includes: Notebook pages, folder, mini frame, mount board, needles, lacing thread, rubber gloves, dust cover, hardware finishing and all instructions. Chart for inserting into a frame for practice on your own; pre-stitching of needlework is not required.
Please bring to class 1- or 2-inch 3-ring binder, paper and embroidery scissors, pencil, 6-inch ruler, plus lighting and magnification if needed.
