Create a beautiful stitching repository using a burl wood box for your base. The top of the box features queen stitch pineapples all in a row, surrounded by traditional sampler motifs. Open the box and you will find a scissor case that continues the pineapple theme, followed by a pair of scissors with a pretty fob and a small pin pillow, all with pineapples! All stitching is done on 36 count cream linen with a plethora of overdyed and plain silks. Queen stitch, mosaic, Smyrna variation, petit point, eyelet and satin will all make an appearance in your work. Simple techniques will be used to finish all the pieces in the project. The entire process will be demonstrated in class. This is an heirloom in the making!
Kit includes: Burl Box, Avas Silk threads, 36 count cream linen, needles, magnets, scissors, backing board, and Batting for assembling, and full instructions.
Please bring to class the usual stitching supplies, and lighting and magnification if needed.
