This round sewing box has been inspired by the color of the Italian linen fabric and the beautiful Gentle Art hand dyed cotton threads. The box wall is embroidered with a border of flowers and leaves in shades of brown and dark and dusted pale rose and brown. A copper bronze metal knob stands in the middle of the lid, and it is also the foundation for a small round pincushion attached to the inside part of the lid. The box is finished with matching wool felt and either the inside bottom or the outside bottom of the box can be embroidered with the initials and year of the stitcher. A small matching needlebook, with the four sides embroidered in Nun’s stitch, complete the box. Available for separate purchase in DDM’s booth matching scissors and thread winder. The finished design wall measures 13 ½” X 2 ½”, lid and bottom 4 5/8”, Needlebook measures 5” x 2 ½”.
Stitches taught Cross Stitch, Eyelet Stitch over six, and Nun’s stitch.
Kit includes: Italian Sotema linen Tortora 30 CT 18×13 in, The Gentle Art Simply Shaker hand dyed threads, wool felt, white fusible interfacing, copper polyester finishing fabric, polyester copper rose cording, basting thread, ecru heavy duty polyester thread, matching sewing threads, fiber fill, a copper bronze metal knob for the lid, backing board pre-cut templates for the box lid, bottom and wall.
