Come join Kathleen in creating a gorgeous sampler with a multitude of rich colors, diversity of layout and precision of stitches, it is done completely in cross stitch with an intricate band of roses pulled from the Berlin Band of Roses 1845. Numerous motifs include a cross and scissors surrounding a New England style pastoral church scene with two tiny figures of a man and woman in genteel clothing in the foreground on the church lawn. This is the bottom left of a large antique Berlin work sampler.
Band of Roses 1845 was obtained from estate sale with no known history or origin. Kathleen will give a short talk on Berlin work and her inspiration for this class.
When stitched on 36 Ct. the completed design area will be 7 x 8. When stitched on 40 Ct. the design area would be 5 ½”wide x 6” high and fits into Olde Colonial Designs’ box.
Kit includes: Fat 8th of 40 or 36 CT Brea by Needle & Flax, 30 half skeins of DMC, Chart of Roses full antique sampler, Chart of New England Chapel 1845. (When signing up for the class, you will be asked to choose 40 or 36 count.)
