Nothing says Christmas like the arrival of the family tree. And, as you decorate it with garlands and beaded fripperies, you can always sneak a bit of chocolate from the basket. The basket is a Janice Card creation. Janice painstakingly creates each basket on a wooden mold using tiny reed weavers. The cherry handle is attached with bone knobs. The 3” cover design features many interesting stitches such as mosaic, queen, Smyrna variations, and petit point. It is worked on 36 count linen using mostly silk threads. Complete finishing instructions will be given in class.
Kit includes: Handmade Nantucket basket, 36 count linen, silk threads, metallic braid, beads, backing board, calico for underside of lid, needles and instruction.
Please bring the usual stitching supplies, plus extra lighting and magnification if needed.
