Join Pam Reed of Olde Colonial Designs in creating a 5 ¼” X 3” miniature box; inspired from a 1920’s soap box, I have modernized it with a needlework sea theme. You will be stitching on 32 Count Linen for the top, and spine of the box. A special lining material will be included as well as the threads from Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye Works. Tiny charms (included) are used to accent the stitching all about the seaside. The spine of the box holds your Initials and worked around the waves of the sea. This class will include a brief history about these wooden boxes made by many for the soap industry. You might just learn why Olde Colonial has a history of wooden boxes starting with the reproduction of the wooden Crate. I will bring one to share that will be entered in the Auction Saturday evening.
Kit includes: Decoupage Art, Box, Linen, Threads, Lining fabric, Needles, magnets, Template board, interfacing, charts and finishing instructions.
Please bring extra lighting and magnification if needed.
