Nancy discovered needlework in 1988 and was hooked immediately. She loved the "quick to stitch" folk art style designs and gradually worked her way to samplers. Nancy decided to start her design company in 2000 with encouragement from a designer she met at a retreat. She enjoys stitching on all fabrics and using all different fibers and embellishments. Nancy has taught at retreats up and down the east coast and for guilds in Ohio. Nancy's designs are usually uncomplicated and fun with a dash of humor in them. The classes she offers are fun and stress free! She enjoys meeting stitchers from all walks of life and of all stitching levels.

Patriotic Trio

This patriotic design is stitched on 28ct Khaki Cashel Linen using a palette of over-dyed flosses in patriotic reds, whites and blues. There are three blocks and they may also be stitched individually. The first block has Uncle Sam, USA and a star, the middle one a house with crossed flags and1776. The last block has a house with clover stitched over one thread, a beehive and beads for bees. You will be stitching in Smyrna, rice stitch, double leviathan and Rhodes to complete your project.

Kit contains: 16" x 9" fabric, full skeins of DMC and Weeks Dye Works cotton floss, chart, color photo, beads, two needles.

Give Thanks

This 5' x 10 1/2" sampler uses over-dyed floss on 28ct summer khaki Cashel linen. You will incorporate Rhodes stitch, rice stitch, satin stitch, over one thread, Smyrna cross and woven waffle stitch into your project. There is a house with trees on either side or an alphabet above with rows of rice stitch and open herringbone. The area for the date is the stitching over one thread portion. "Give Thanks" with a row of acorns and pumpkins. The last band is the woven waffle stitch. Examine the photo and imagine all of the things you can learn as Nancy shows you how to further your stitching skills and begin a beautiful sampler just for you.

Kit contains: 11 x 16 fabric, full skeins of Gentle Art, Weeks Dye Works and Threadworks flosses, chart, instructions, photo and needles.

Seasonal Sampler is an intermediate level class design stitched on 25ct mushroom Lugana. Lugana is an evenweave with round threads with no slubs (thick and thin parts like in linen) so it much easier to work on. The 6" x 15 1/4" design is completed in four parts representing the four seasons. The alphabet is spaced out over the four blocks. The fibers used are DMC cotton floss. You will be working a variety of stitches: cross stitch over one and over four, Smyrna over two and over four, Rhodes over six, rice stitch over four and double leviathan, long stitch and regular cross stitch.

Kit contains: 12" x 21" fabric, 15 skeins of DMC, chart, color photo, instructions and two needles.
