sharing the love of needlework through shows, classes and seminars
Catherine Strickler
Catherine has been stitching for over 30 years, teaching since 1997 and currently has several teaching pieces available for classes. Catherine believes that needlework classes should be fun as well as informative. She began designing when she entered Cross Stitch and Country Crafts® magazine's 1990 Easter egg contest and won a prize, at the time was only stitching on Aida cloth. Catherine's local needlework shop encouraged her to graduate to stitching on linen. She fell in love with the texture and the versatility of the fabric and has been stitching on it ever since. She was then encouraged to design for the commercial market.
She began serious designing in 1995 and formed her own company, Indigo Rose. With eight published designs, she attended her first needlework trade show in Feb. 1996. Catherine now has over 50 designs to her credit. She stitches all of her models and enjoys using sampler specialty stitches. Her kits come complete with detailed instructions and diagrams. Catherine has lived in many parts of the USA and now makes her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
