Exclusive Teaching Piece
A Seashell Legacy is a tribute to the ocean and its gifts. Stitched on Zweigart’s 32 count Silkweaver’s Rue Green linen. The motifs are created using Gloriana and Thread Gatherer silks. The four scallop shells are stitched using the Spider stitch and a variegated silk to replicate the intricate coloring of the scallop shell in nature. The ocean waves round border are stitched in an overdyed silk using wave pattern. The central verse is stitched in backstitch over one linen thread using an over dyed seaweed silk. This project is 4 x 4 and mounted into a 4” turned wood pin cushion by the Sudbury House and embellished with a complimentary hand twisted cording of silks from The Thread Gatherer.
Kit includes: 32 count linen, Gloriana and Thread Gatherer silks, Sudberry House wood pin cushion, graphics, instructions, color photocopy, long neck pearl pins, muslin, foam and mountboard. Bring craft scissors to class.
Please bring lighting and magnification if needed.
