The Little Bee Pouch
Class taught at both NH and MO Shows

Teacher: Barbara Jackson
Max: 24 students
Level: Intermediate
Description: Exclusive Teaching Piece – a Premier Piece

Price: $168.00
Scheduled: Thursday 9:00am - 12:45pm

Create an adorable 4" pouch filled with your favorite stitching necessities decorated with spiffy bluebirds and bees. The pouch is constructed from felted wool with a simple blanket stitch along the seams. Tightly twisted cording becomes the closure with your initials adding a bit of pizzazz to the front. Now, what's in the bag? A pretty little maiden guards your needles in a booklet of felted wool pages. I'm a strong believer in having a separate pair of scissors for each project. The scissors for this little pouch reside in a linen slip with a button closure. (Scissors are included in kit!) And to park your threaded needles as you stitch there is a plump strawberry sporting embroidered leaves. All the stitching is done on 36 count linen with Gloriana silk or Au Vers a Soie. Everything can easily fit into the pouch with room to spare for extra threads. A perfect project for the springtime! All finishing, especially the pouch will be demonstrated in class.

Kit includes: 36 count linen, felted wool, silk threads, scissors, and complete instructions.

Please bring light and magnification if needed.

"Mr. Gobble - Autumn Gold Sewing Clamp"

Teacher: Maureen Appleton-Sorenson
Max: 24 students (Min: 6 students)
Level: Intermediate
Description:

Price: $105.00
Scheduled: Saturday, 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Antique lovers seem to gravitate to the 1800's for their finds. Treasures are often right in our own attics, garages, basements; this one found in my paint pantry. I recently married a good ole Wisconsin farm boy, who hasn't discarded anything for 60 years. In a bin of old tractor paint, I found just the colour I was looking for my new Thanksgiving sewing clamp design. I screamed "Perfect" to my husband, who was in the process of re-creating our vintage black sewing clamp; our foreign manufacturer has gone a thunder, so he has stepped in to reproduce them. In a very fine fashion I may add. His workmanship is of quality and pride. Of course…Made In The U S A. He has taken his welding skills and techniques of over forty years to re-create these clamps, and has done a fine job in smoothing the kinks and polishing the finishing sprays. They are truly a nice new addition to our line of needlework accouterments. Thank you, Dennis.

Summer won't be here forever, and soon we will be experiencing the chill of autumn, and then followed by my favorite of all holidays, Thanksgiving. "Mr. Gobble" is created with 18 colours of floss on 32-lambswool linen. I can't wait to share with you the Palistrina Knot finishing technique to attractively attach this handsome bird atop your old tractor gold sewing clamp. Its application is delicate and truly fitting for such a proud turkey. The colors will breathe holiday, and the anxieties of stitching over one on 32-count will erase.

Class kit includes: Everything! Wool roving and a circular padded disc of foam core, for stuffing included. The gold stitched skirt border matches perfectly the colour of your clamp. Your pins and needles will love it. Truly unique!
